Analysis of Causes of Nylon 6 DTY Fibrils

There are many reasons for the fibrils of nylon 6 DTY. For example, the fibrils of POY, a raw material of DTY nylon yarn, exists at both ends of DTY bobbin. Damage to a certain ceramic (such as spinning head) during the texturing process can cause fibrils. As long as the cause of fibrils is found, it is not difficult to solve the problem.

Nylon 6 DTY is widely used in core-spun yarn and other fields because of its high strength and soft velvet feeling. However, due to the influence of crimp rigidity, it is easy to cause fibrils in the post-processing process, so it is necessary to ensure the quality of POY and properly increase the oiling of POY. POY with finer monofilament size has a certain degree of crystallization, higher strength and lower elongation. If the speed is too fast during processing, it is easy to destroy its original structure and produce a large number of fibrils. Highly-elastic DTY has low bending strength, which determines that POY yarn with finer monofilament size is fully deformed under low tension and low speed.

Under the condition of no fibrils, the drawing ratio should be increased as much as possible to increase the contact pressure between the filament and the friction disc and reduce the phenomenon of twist escape. The control of the twisting tension is of great significance to the bulkiness of the DTY and the feel of the fabric. The porous high-elastic DTY is relatively fluffy with poor cohesion, so a relatively large twisting degree is beneficial. But the twisting tension should not be too large.

The porous filament is flexible. When choosing the friction disc, try to use a material with a lower friction coefficient, which can effectively control the formation of fibrils. For porous filaments, due to the fineness of monofilament and the looseness of filaments, the heat transfer effect is better. During stretching, the deformation temperature has a great influence on them. If the temperature is too high, the filament will be locally softened. Adhesion will easily lead to tight spots and the strength will drop. Therefore, deformation temperature should not be too high. On the other hand, temperature is of great significance to the crimp performance and feel of DTY, which is very important to the use performance of products and the control of fibrils. The good elastic recovery rate can make up for some "defects" on the fabric.
